Atlans — MU Online Map Guide

Atlans is the underwater map, and the first place in MU Online that stops being a grind and starts being a wall. It opens at level 50 from Noria, and the monsters run from level 43 Bahamut in the north-west shallows to a level 74 Hydra with 19,000 HP in the far south.

It is also the map with the widest internal spread of any classic zone: three separate arrival points at level 50, 80 and 90, so the map effectively hands you a different starting position depending on how strong you are when you walk in.

Hunting Notes

Atlans 1, 2 and 3 are arrival points, not separate maps

The server has three warp areas on this one map: level 50 at (15,11), level 80 at (225,53) and level 90 at (62,163). That is what people mean by Atlans 2 and Atlans 3 — same map file, deeper drop-in point.

The north-west is the level 43-46 corner

Bahamut sits in eight rectangles between (22,44) and (82,59), with Vepar just south of it around (22,119) to (70,90) and Valkyrie scattered above y=112. That is the whole low band, and it is where the level 50 entrance puts you.

Silver Valkyrie is the map

At 140 spawns it is the most numerous monster in Atlans by a distance, level 68 with 8,000 HP, and its rectangles run diagonally from (232,19) in the north-east right down to (122,204) in the south. Great Bahamut at 113 spawns fills the same corridor one level band lower.

Two monsters you do not walk into by accident

Lizard King (level 70, 9,000 HP) owns the southern quarter below y=124, and a single Hydra pack — six spawns, level 74, 19,000 HP — sits at (27,229) in the far south-west. The Hydra is the hardest classic-map monster in MU.
